Becoming Catholic - Adult Initiation
Interested in joining the Catholic Faith?
Order of Christian Initiation for Adults

Are you curious about the Catholic faith, or feeling called to take the next step in your spiritual journey? The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults is a warm, welcoming pathway for adults 18 and older who wish to learn more about Catholicism, grow in their relationship with Christ, and, if they choose, prepare to receive the Sacraments.

Whether you are:
-
Unbaptized
-
Baptized in another Christian tradition
-
Baptized Catholic but have not received Eucharist or Confirmation
…you are invited to explore, ask questions, and discover the beauty of the Catholic faith.

Our OCIA gatherings run from September through Lent, leading up to the joyful celebration of the Easter Vigil. Along the way, you’ll join in weekly conversations about Scripture, worship, prayer, and Catholic traditions. You’ll also have opportunities for community service, spiritual retreats, and the support of a personal sponsor—a companion who walks with you throughout the journey.

This is not a rushed process. You are welcome to take part at your own pace, discerning each step with prayer and openness. There’s never pressure—only an invitation to grow closer to Christ and to the Church.
We encourage you to join us for Mass at The Shrine and meet a member of our Adult Initiation team, who would be happy to talk with you about what the journey could look like for you.
